Today’s photo is bought to you by the wonder that is Danny and Pania, and their gorgeous wedding last year.
When I met with Pania, she asked casually if I wanted to see her ceremony venue, since it was just up the road from their house. I was pretty excited to see this place I’d never heard of (that doesn’t happen a lot in the wedding industry) and we walked up through Lyall Bay, along a bridge next to her house, and into a clearing where the most majestic monastery emerged from the trees, framed in the background by the Cook Strait. The whole experience was breathtaking. We were 10 minutes from the city, but felt a lifetime away.
Pania took me around the estate and explained how the Archbishop was willing to officiate their wedding since they lived next door and knew them personally, even though they didn’t officially have weddings there, making it a very special occasion. On the day, Pania and Danny were a dream; they walked hand in hand and sat together, laughed together, and drank in the moments as they unfolded. I felt overwhelmed with privilege for being able to document their story.
