Sarah | Wellington Boatshed Wedding Photography

It’s May the 18th, 2012 and I’m editing one of the last weddings for this season (ending June 2). This last summer season has been the busiest I’ve ever done and what a total joy it was. My blog has taken a bit of a hit, though! I’ve not managed to keep up with posting all the weddings I’d have liked to, but I’m so thrilled to say my system worked and every single client had their slideshow of images before deadline. In fact most clients got their images a week or two early. I’m now looking towards winter, enjoying a week or two’s break between some of the dates coming up, and the chance to reignite blogging every week, which I love to do when I can.

So, to start it off, here’s an image that has been floating around my head all week; it’s a shot from the wedding I’m editing right now. Sarah married Kieran at the Boatshed, Wellington, on a brisk Autumnal day (in Wellington, that’s a winter’s day by the standards of the rest of creation). But when the sun shone through, it was with a soft, gentle warmth.

Every time Sarah turned towards the camera I was struck by her beauty; I kept thinking she would have knocked Hollywood off its feet back in the 1940s. Don’t you think so?

I am into the BW image. I love the softness and I think it puts a pretty strong focus on her. But they are both big’ol gallery wrap worthy!!!

I’m a bit partial to the black and white for pretty much the same reasons Paul stated. Beautiful!
