Joy and Darren Sneak Peek | Wellington Botanical Gardens Wedding Photographer | Old Saint Pauls

It’s always a bit nervewracking trying to squeeze an entire studio shoot into 45 minutes or so between a wedding ceremony and a reception, but when you have a glorious 2 hours up your sleeve, and a videographer who’s on the same page, the whole thing becomes the best day evaaaar.

I’m a light chaser, like many photographers. I’m that weirdo who sees light falling through a broken down corrugated iron garage and thinks ‘ooo how pretty!’ because the light always, always overrides the backdrop. In this case, we got lucky. The scenery was already perfection at the Wellington Botanic Gardens; winding paths of delight with new nooks and crannies around every corner, each with fresh rays of light finding their way through the tall trees. Thanks Joy and Darren (remember their engagement photos?), you shone brighter than the sun, and given the gorgeous light, that’s saying a lot!
