Today’s photo is from just last Saturday, right in the middle of our Wellington winter.
Here’s the thing about winter weddings. It may be gusting 130km per hour. It may be cloudy, or raining, or stormy. It may be freezing cold. But if you can find just a few minutes in a sheltered little garden out front (one that you might have missed if you blinked) you can find exactly what you were looking for.
Joanna and Andrew were married up at the beautiful heritage Museum buildings, on a day that saw a pretty severe weather system hit. But they braved the storm, and amidst the cold, wind and a fair bit of rain throughout the day, we found the window – that one where the sun broke through for a minute or two, and for those minutes, we forgot it was winter in Wellington.
I haven’t been to a winter wedding yet, that wasn’t warm with love, and made perfect by a few moments like these ones.
